Admissions Process
Visit Canterbury: A visit to the campus is one of the best ways for you to experience the unique warmth and beauty of The Canterbury School community. Campus tours are offered every Tuesday and Thursday at 9:30-10:30 a.m. Appointments are not necessary. You may also schedule a convenient time for a tour by contacting our Director of Admissions and Development, Libby Tadlock at 972-572-7200 ext. 106 or TadlockL@TheCanterburySchool.org.

Application: Complete an admissions application and return it to the Canterbury School Office along with the $150 application fee.

Schedule Testing: Testing dates are scheduled for the Spring. A personal essay or writing sample are part of the testing process. Late testing can be scheduled by appointment with the Director of Admissions and Development, Libby Tadlock at 972-572-7200 ext. 106.
Student Visit and Interview: Prospective students for Grades 1-12 are invited to visit our campus for a half day while shadowing a current student, attending classes, and participating in school activities. While on campus, students will have an opportunity to visit with the Division Head.
Recommendations: Canterbury requires teacher recommendations for Grades 2-12.

Records: The Record Release Authorization form can be downloaded here and sent to the applicant’s school.

Questionnaires: Canterbury requires prospective students and their families in Grades 4-12 to complete both the student and family questionnaire. These may be submitted along with the application.

Decisions: The Canterbury Episcopal School has adopted a rolling admissions policy. Should you have any questions, please contact our Director of Admissions and Development, Libby Tadlock at 972-572-7200 ext. 106. Canterbury will offer admission to qualified students whenever spaces are available; otherwise, qualified students will be placed on a waiting list.
