Welcome!! Thank you for your interest in The Canterbury Episcopal School. Choosing a school is an important step for your family; please know that we want to help in every way that we can. Canterbury seeks families who value the benefits of a demanding, independent school education and are prepared to actively support their children through a collaborative educational process. Students are evaluated on the basis of school records, academic testing, interviews, and teacher recommendations. Extracurricular talents and interests are an integral component of the student’s admissions profile.

Visit Canterbury: Campus Tours are offered every Tuesday and Thursday from 9:30-10:30 AM and Wednesday at 1:00 PM. Appointments are not necessary. You may also call to set an appointment if these times are not convenient by contacting Libby Tadlock at 972-572-7200 ext. 106. A visit to the campus is one of the best ways for you to experience the unique warmth and beauty of the CES community.

Application: Complete an admissions application and send it to the Canterbury School Office along with the $150 application fee. Prospective families may request an application from tadlockl@thecanterburyschool.org or call us at 972.572.7200, or download the admissions application here .
Schedule Testing: Testing dates are scheduled in the spring. A personal essay or writing sample are part of the testing process. Late testing can be scheduled by appointment with Division Heads:

Student Visit and Interview: Prospective Students for 1st grade and higher are invited to visit for a half day attending classes and participating in school activities. While on campus, students will have an opportunity to visit with the division head.
Recommendations: For grade 2 and above Canterbury requires teacher recommendations that can be downloaded from the website or requested from the school by emailing Libby Tadlock at tadlockl@thecanterburyschool.org.
Records: The Record Release Authorization form may downloaded from the website and sent to the applicant’s school.
Questionnaires: Canterbury requires prospective students and their families in grades 4 and above to complete both the student questionnaire and the family questionnaire. These may be submitted along with the application.
Prospective families may download the teacher recommendation form, records release form, and questionnaires or request the forms from tadlockl@thecanterburyschool.org.
Decisions: The Canterbury Episcopal School has adopted a rolling admissions policy. When you have questions, please contact Libby Tadlock at : 972-572-7200 ext. 106. Canterbury will offer admission to qualified students whenever spaces are available; otherwise, qualified students will be placed in a waiting pool.
