Youth & Government

Canterbury is proud to partner with Oak Cliff YMCA's Texas Youth & Government. After researching, writing and defending original bills, students will have the opportunity to participate in mock sessions (implementing parliamentary procedure) in an attempt to pass their bills into law. Students will also have the opportunity to campaign and run for "office" at both the district and state conferences. Membership requirements will be available upon request. Mrs. Robin Lage and Mr. Jason Holder serve as staff advisers. Y&G is open to sixth-eighth graders who meet membership requirements. Meetings are Mondays, 3:30-4:30; no fee by school; Costs to compete in district and state meets are totaled at approximately $500.
