Introduction to the Parents’ Organization:
1. What is the Canterbury Episcopal School Parents’ Organization?
The parents’ organization is formed to serve the best interests of Canterbury by supporting the school’s mission, programs, and activities. The parents’ organization will build positive school spirit, nurture communication, help with classroom, administrative, social, and athletic needs on a volunteer basis, and raise funds in conjunction with school-wide development policies and programs.
2. How do I become a member of the parents’ organization?
All parents and guardians of the children attending The Canterbury Episcopal School are members. The Parents Organization plays a vital part in creating and maintaining a positive sense of community at CES. It is hoped that everyone will be active members, and be willing to help when called.
3. What are some of the events for which the parents’ organization is responsible ?
The parents’ organization helps support and coordinates many events throughout the year. Some examples: the uniform swaps, Secret Santa program, drivers for field trips and community service, athletic concessions and games, visual and performing arts programs, the Annual Gala, SCRIP, and many other volunteer opportunities that arise during the year.
4. How does the parents’ organization communicate its needs to the parents?
Events and volunteer opportunities will be posted in the Update sent home weekly.
An e-mail distribution regarding upcoming events called “In the Know” will be sent weekly by your Parents’ Organization leaders. If you would like to be included in this distribution please e-mail your contact information to Tammy at cesparentorg@yahoo.com.
