The 2008 Cougars Soccer Team returns several starters from the 2007 regional finalist squad. Two time all-state goalie Duston Gouge will return in the net while several talented freshmen will vie for the few open starting positions. The varsity team will open the season in the FW Bethesda Tournament on August 14-16, a week before school starts.
A search for the varsity soccer coach is underway and is expected to be announced before August 1st. Practice begins on Monday, August 4th at 9:00 am. Physicals for all participants are required before the first practice. Coach Kyle Skelton will return as the varsity assistant as well as the head coach of the middle school team.
The middle school team will be comprised of 6th - 8th graders. One middle school team is expected to compete against other schools. The team may be adjusted each week if there are more than 15 participants. The roster will be based on regular attendance, acceptable grades and ability of the player. |
