Thank you for your interest in The Canterbury Episcopal School where we have been preparing students for success at the college of their choice since 1992. To know the heart of Canterbury, you must visit our beautiful campus and experience the excitement our students enjoy each day.
We have a rich tradition of serving our community as an academically rigorous and pleasantly diverse private school. We currently serve over 225 students in grades Pre-K through 12th grade, all of whom have their heart set on college and a successful life beyond their formal education. Learning is an enjoyable experience at every age and our goal at Canterbury is to ensure that our students become life-long learners who welcome the process. At Canterbury, we guide our students to build their minds in critical thinking; we help them nourish their spirit through Christian education and weekly worship service, as well as participation in service to others beyond our learning community. In short, we want our students to learn how to be a valuable, productive and caring members of the community that is our world.
Through regular physical education in the early grades and a selection of competitive sports opportunities in the Upper School, we help students build healthy bodies and present them with opportunities to develop the character necessary to persevere in challenging situations. We cultivate a positive competitive atmosphere where good sportsmanship is standard protocol. Through carefully structured and age appropriate instruction in art and music, we introduce students to created beauty and fine aesthetics. We encourage our students to explore the arts in ways they never imagined.
Canterbury is challenging for the mind and the body. With teachers who know and love their students, our classrooms are a supportive, safe, and enriched environment in which students thrive and where these same teachers help students meet and exceed their individual potential.
We invite you to join us for a tour where you will see and feel what is the Canterbury difference.
